Social Studies: Right now we are learning about ancient India. We just learned about their different religions such as Hinduism and Buddhuism. Remember to study! We will be taking a test on Monday.
Math: We just took our chapter 5 test! Now we are learning about fraction estimation. We also are trying out for the Math Bee Team.
Science: We are learning about cycles in the biosphere. We are going to make presentations about them. Examples are the Water Cycle, Carbon-Oxygen Cycle, and the Nitrogen Cycle.
Reading: We had a Vocabulary test. We read a story about the creator, Iwao Takamoto, of Scooby-Doo, Mutley, and many other cartoon characters. We are now wrapping up Collection 2. Don't forget your A.R. logs. Remember A.R. goals need to be met by Friday!
English: We are talking about pronouns. We are learning how to use "who" and "whom" correctly.

Getting Used to Middle School

Hello 6th grade bloggers!

As we make our way through the back half of first quarter, I want to make sure you know how many positive things I see from this group! There is so much talent and potential, and each one of you brings something special to the "table". Ask yourselves the following questions, and give yourself honest answers to them. They will help you with goal setting and doing your best in middle school.
1. Am I currently doing all I can to be the best student I can be?
2. What changes would I make in my study habits?
3. Am I surrounding myself with the most positive influences in my social life?
4. What goals (long and short term) can I make for myself?

By consciously reviewing the above, you can celebrate the best and change the rest!

A New School Year

Hello Sixth Graders!!
Hopefully you are ready and willing to put forth your best as we start this new school year. It will be a change as you enter middle school, but hopefully it is one that is fun, challenging, and rewarding.
